Years 1982 - 1994
Don's son, Ryan entered the sport of BMX at the age of five when next door neighbor Kevin Keller introduced him to the sport in 1981. After watching Ryan win race after race, Don decided to fuel his son's passion and threw everything he had into the sport devoting all his energy and attention into Ryan and the sport of BMX. Within two years, Ryan was doing so well that he began winning nationals all over the country.
Always wanting to give Ryan a competitive edge, Don began to design and develop components for him that were lighter and more streamlined. Don's designs revolutionized the sport and the industry by creating his components from aluminum alloys and titanium - two materials no one else had even thought of incorporating into designs at that time. Don took all the parts off of Ryan's bike that he considered inferior and redesigned them, machining everything in the USA in a friend's machine shop. Crupi Parts was born.
By early 1983, Crupi Parts and Ryan were on fire. Ryan landed a full factory ride with Free Agent and Don became the team's manager. Over the next several years, Don would take Free Agent on to win multiple #1 Championships. Always having a keen eye for talent, Don Crupi was responsible for surfacing some of the biggest names in the industry.
Don continued his winning streak with Haro/Crupi until Ryan retired in 1994. Don sold Crupi Parts in 1994 , and the name continues as one of the biggest names in BMX almost 42 years after it was born out of his garage.

1994 - 2005
When Don retired in 1994, he sold the company to the owner of the machine shop making his parts in Arcadia California; Ben Joseph Sr. Not only was Benny the original shop to make all of the Crupi CNC machined parts in the 80’s and 90’s but it was Benny’s engineering influence that made the parts as good as they were! Then in late 1997, Ben hired Greg Swingrover to manage the company and push it in a newer direction. Crupi then focused on dominating the high-end BMX Racing market World Wide!

2006
Greg Swingrover buys Crupi! Although he has been with Crupi since 1997, Greg has a long history in BMX even before Crupi so read on and find out Greg's path to becoming the owner of one of today's top rated BMX Racing companies; Crupi Parts, Inc.

Starting around the year 2009, Crupi started to get more creative with it's advertisments. Crupi had ads in all the BMX magazines during this time including BMXPress, BMX World, XBR, Fastlane and of course both ABA and NBL magazines. With riders from multiple countries, we had lots of media to work with!
2024 = 42 Years!

This concludes our company history. After 42 years in business, Crupi is still focused on the race only market and BMX racing is still our passion!
